There were odd times in Westeros, no single man could rule the lands. Instead it was decided that a union of three should be selected to fight the Dragons, the other three should take on the Direwolves.
House Baratheon and House Martell formed an alliance to keep Lord Tyrell occupied. House Stark though had other plans and put a Knight in Cracklaw point. Unfortunately for Stark that triggered both Baratheon and Greyjoy to attack and almost annihilate the wolves.
When the time closed in, Baratheon had to end the game by attacking his former ally Greyjoy in Moat Cailin, putting him in strike position for the eight round. There Lord Martell had been so kind to leave Storms end undefended.
